Senior Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities Location: Pune Tech Centre, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune Industry: Automotive Plastic Interior Components Experience: 6–8 Years ctc-12lpa Are you an experienced Automotive Design Engineer with expertise in CATIA V5 and Automotive Air Vent Design ? We are looking for a passionate Senior Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of world-class automotive interior products. Key Responsibilities Develop design concepts and 3D CAD models for automotive plastic interior components Create and modify 3D CAD models as per OEM/VW Group methodologies Perform STRAK analysis, manufacturing feasibility studies, and 2D drawing reviews Create kinematic models for functional parts Support tolerance stack-up calculations and GD&T implementation Prepare DFMEA inputs and maintain lesson-learned documentation Conduct packaging studies, air directivity studies, mounting/demounting analysis, and centering/locating schemes Perform style surface analysis, clash analysis, draft analysis, and CAD quality checks Participate in technical discussions with customers and cross-functional teams Mentor and guide Design Engineers on CAD methodologies and best practices Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Polymer Engineering 6–8 years of experience in automotive plastic part design Strong expertise in CATIA V5 Mandatory experience in Automotive Air Vent Design Good knowledge of tooling, plastic joining & fixing techniques, and assembly processes Strong understanding of OEM design methodologies and CAD standards Knowledge of DMU/Kinematics preferred Familiarity with vehicle integration, homologation, regulations, and functional testing will be an added advantage Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred candidate profile
