Senior Staff Engineer - Data Scientist

Role Overview: Freshworks is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer Data Scientist with a focus on GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) to lead innovative applications of data science and machine learning in employee engagement and customer support. In this role, you will pioneer the use of GenAI techniques to tackle unique challenges within the company, such as analyzing time series data for anomalous behavior using classical ML techniques. You will be instrumental in transforming IT services into an interactive, conversational experience backed by real-time analysis, building scalable systems to provide insights to customers through a next-gen conversational UI/UX. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product and business teams to understand challenges and opportunities within the GenAI landscape and align data science initiatives with organizational objectives. - Metric Definition: Define key performance metrics reflecting the value delivered to end-users through GenAI solutions. - Intelligent System Design: Utilize expertise in machine learning, statistics, and advanced mathematics to conceptualize and design intelligent systems powered by GenAI. - Big Data Processing: Develop efficient systems for processing large volumes of data, demonstrating proficiency in distributed programming frameworks like Hadoop and Spark. - ML/AI Architecture: Work with ML Engineers to design scalable systems and model architectures for real-time ML/AI services. - End-to-End ML Pipelines: Take ownership of ML pipelines from data pre-processing to feedback sharing, ensuring model generation and cross-validation. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. - Strong problem-solving and programming skills with a deep understanding of mathematical foundations in machine learning algorithms. - Proven track record of deploying ML projects in production systems with significant individual contributions. - Experience in natural language processing, prompt engineering, LLMs, transformers, knowledge graphs, time series analysis, NLP, Distributed Systems, and Big Data technologies like Spark. - Proficiency in at least 3 of the following areas: Natural language processing, statistical ML techniques, graph algorithms, constraint optimization, signal processing, deep learning, and distributed systems. - Proficiency in database systems, schema design, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
