As a skilled Database Administrator (L1) with 2 to 4 years of experience, your role will involve various responsibilities related to supporting and managing databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle across different environments like Development, QA, UAT, and Production. Key Responsibilities: - End-to-End Database Administration - Install, configure, and perform version upgrades of databases. - Manage user accounts and permissions. - Collaborate on schema design and optimization. - Set up and maintain environments in various stages. - Performance Optimization - Assist in query tuning and indexing strategies. - Analyze resource utilization to identify and mitigate bottlenecks. - Conduct database structure reviews for optimal performance. - Participate in proactive performance audits. - Monitoring & Alerting - Monitor database health and performance metrics. - Set up custom dashboards and alert thresholds. - Monitor database replication and lag. - Integrate monitoring with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Nagios. - Backup & Recovery - Support scheduled backups and point-in-time recovery. - Manage offsite/cloud backup storage. - Troubleshoot backup failures and recovery issues. - High Availability (HA) & Failover Support - Assist in configuring replication and failover setups. - Support MongoDB Replica Sets and Sharding. - Contribute to failover strategy planning. - Perform zero-downtime maintenance. - Ongoing Maintenance & Support - Provide 24x7 incident response and troubleshoot issues. - Apply regular patching and updates. - Assist in capacity planning and growth analysis. - Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing. Qualifications Required: - 2 to 4 years of database administration experience. - Hands-on experience with MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle. - Knowledge of high availability setups. - Understanding of security best practices. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills. - Ability to work in a collaborative environment. Educational Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Preferred Skills: - Experience with database management tools. - Certifications in database management or related technologies are a plus.
