About the role
Role Overview: As a Business Analyst at Gainwell, you will contribute your skills to support Data Analytics initiatives by performing a combined role of Business Analyst. Your primary responsibility will involve working closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements, ensuring that business needs are accurately mapped to analytical solutions and end products. Your role will include reviewing and auditing change requests, validating testing approaches, and ensuring detailed and feasible implementation plans aligned with business objectives. Your work will be limited to requirement analysis of the product, with no access to Protected Health Information (PHI) & Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or any secured/confidential client data. Key Responsibilities: - Gather, analyze, and document requirements in collaboration with stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams. - Review and audit change requests and validate testing approaches. - Ensure implementation plans are detailed, feasible, and aligned with business objectives. - Map business requirements to analytical outputs such as reports, dashboards, and datasets. - Utilize strong analytical capabilities, hands-on SQL experience, and a solid understanding of data analytics concepts. - Utilize strong documentation skills, including BRDs, FRDs, data mappings, process flows, and use cases. - Evaluate testing strategies and practices to ensure adequate coverage and business alignment. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Data Analyst, preferably in data analytics or reporting projects. - Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries for data analysis, validation, and reconciliation. - Knowledge of analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). - Experience using requirement mapping and ALM tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, Rally). - Strong understanding of US Data Analytics domain, reporting, metrics, and data-driven decision support. - Experience working in large corporate (matrix) environments with multiple teams and stakeholders. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences. - Problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. - Ability to review implementation and deployment plans to ensure readiness and risk mitigation.
