About the role
As a Java Automation Engineer, your role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Karate, and Java. You will be responsible for building and maintaining UI, API, and integration automation test suites. Additionally, you will develop clean, maintainable, and reusable automation scripts following best practices. Your responsibilities will also include performing cross-browser and cross-platform testing, integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines, executing automation in distributed environments, and supporting test data management and API mocking. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Karate, and Java. - Build and maintain UI, API, and integration automation test suites. - Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable automation scripts following best practices. - Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing. - Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - Execute automation in distributed environments using Docker, Selenium Grid, Playwright Grid. - Perform failure analysis, debugging, and root-cause identification. - Support test data management and API mocking/stubbing (WireMock, Mockito). - Contribute to test planning, documentation, and automation best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile delivery model. Qualification Required: - 6+ years of hands-on experience in test automation engineering. - Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, API Automation (Karate), and Core Java. - Experience designing automation frameworks (POM, Hybrid, BDD, Keyword-Driven). - Strong understanding of OOP concepts, collections, and data structures. - Experience with API testing tools such as RestAssured / Python requests / Postman. - Proficiency with Git and version control workflows. - Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - Familiarity with BrowserStack / LambdaTest. - Working knowledge of SQL for data validation. - Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. - Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
