About the role
Please find the Key Responsibilities and required skills for Windows L2 profile Active Directory & Group Policy - *Administer Active Directory users, groups, OUs, computer objects, and permissions. - *Create, edit, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security, software deployment, and standardization. - Manage authentication issues, account lockouts, and AD replication health. Virtualization (Hyper-V & VMware) - *Build, configure, and manage virtual machines on Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi. - *Provision new VMs end to end allocate compute (CPU/RAM), attach, and expand storage/datastores, configure virtual networking, and hand over ready-to-use servers. - Harden and bring each current VM into compliance with company security baselines OS hardening, patch level, antivirus/endpoint agent, correct domain join, and monitoring/backup agents installed. - Manage snapshots, VM templates, resource allocation, and basic performance tuning. Required Skills & Qualifications - 36 years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server (2019/2022) in a production environment. - Practical experience with Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi, including creating and managing VMs and storage. - Working knowledge of NAS and SAN storage concepts and administration. - Solid experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS. - Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication. - Basic hands-on knowledge of FortiGate firewalls and FortiAnalyzer. - Experience with Wi-Fi / wireless network management. - Experience with a monitoring platform such as Zabbix. - Experience with patch management tools and processes. - Good troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. - Well versed with Microsoft 365 Storage (NAS & SAN) - *Administer and monitor NAS and SAN storage provision LUNs/volumes/shares, map storage to hosts and VMs, and manage capacity. - *Monitor storage health, utilization, and performance; plan and execute capacity expansion. - *Manage file shares, permissions, and quotas. Backup & Recovery (Veeam) - +Configure, manage, and monitor Veeam Backup & Replication jobs for servers and virtual machines. - +Verify backup success, troubleshoot failed jobs, and manage retention and backup storage. - +Perform periodic restore tests and support disaster-recovery drills. Core Network Services - Configure and manage DHCP scopes, reservations, options, and failover/redundancy. - +Administer DNS forward/reverse zones, records (A, CNAME, MX, PTR, etc.), forwarders, and resolution troubleshooting. - +Manage and monitor Wi-Fi / wireless infrastructure access points, SSIDs, controllers, and basic RF/coverage troubleshooting. Security Infrastructure (Fortinet) - (/+) Basic administration of FortiGate firewalls firewall policies/rules, NAT, port forwarding, VPN basics, and object management under guidance. - Use FortiAnalyzer for log collection, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of security events across FortiGate devices. - Support security incident investigation using firewall and analyzer logs. Monitoring & Patch Management - (/+)Configure and maintain monitoring tools such as Zabbix set up hosts, templates, triggers, dashboards, and alerts for servers, VMs, storage, and network devices. - Respond to monitoring alerts, investigate issues, and take corrective action. - +Own patch management plan, test, and deploy OS and application patches/updates across servers and VMs, track compliance, and maintain patching schedules and reporting. General L2 Operations - (/+)Provide second-level (L2) support for infrastructure incidents and service requests; escalate to vendors when needed. - *Maintain documentation runbooks, network/server diagrams, asset records, and change logs. - *Follow change-management and ticketing processes and meet defined SLAs. - *Participate in an on-call / shift rotation as required. Preferred / Good to Have -Relevant certifications, e.g.: - Microsoft: MCSA / MCSE, Azure/Windows Server certifications - VMware: VCP - Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) - Understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs,switching, TCP/IP) Education -Any IT Graduate (BCA/ B.Sc. IT) Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. - Able to work independently and prioritize under pressure. - Clear written and verbal communication. - Team player with a service-oriented mindset. .
