About the role
Network Support Engineer L2 Location: Hyderabad & Delhi NCR Experience: 4-10 years Immediate joiners preferred Shift: Rotational Role Objective Provide Level 2 network operations support for enterprise connectivity, availability and incident management. The role is expected to triage network alerts, support standard changes, validate connectivity, coordinate with telecom/vendors and escalate complex routing, firewall or architecture issues with complete diagnostics. Key Responsibilities Monitor network alerts and perform Level 2 triage for link down, high utilization, packet loss, latency, device health, interface errors and routing reachability issues. Support LAN/WAN incident troubleshooting including switch port checks, VLAN validation, IP reachability, DNS dependency checks and basic routing path validation. Coordinate with ISP, telecom providers and vendor TAC for circuit incidents, RFO follow-up, escalation and service restoration tracking. Support standard network changes including port enablement, VLAN assignment, access list validation, device backup checks and planned activity coordination under approved change records. Perform VPN and remote connectivity first-level network validation before routing to security or firewall teams for advanced checks. Maintain network device inventory inputs, port mapping updates, diagram inputs, incident evidence and handover notes. Support site coordination for physical checks, smart-hands activity, cabling validation and outage communication. Escalate firewall, routing protocol, architecture, SD-WAN or security-impacting issues to L3 with logs, command outputs and impact assessment. Required Technical Skills Good understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, trunk/access ports, routing basics, DNS/DHCP dependencies and network troubleshooting methodology. Hands-on exposure to switches, routers, wireless controllers/access points, VPN validation and basic firewall rule flow understanding. Ability to use standard network commands and tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, telnet/port test, show interface, show logs and utilization checks. Experience in incident coordination with ISP/vendor TAC, site teams and L3 network/security teams. Understanding of ITIL incident, change and problem management with strong evidence-driven ticket updates. Basic understanding of monitoring tools, alert response, device backup checks and operational reporting. Qualification and Experience Graduate degree/diploma in IT, Networking or equivalent technical experience. 4 to 7 years of network operations support experience in enterprise environment. CCNA, Network+, ITIL Foundation or equivalent practical exposure preferred. Strong communication skills for outage coordination, vendor follow-up and stakeholder updates.
