About the role
As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst at our organization, your role will involve assisting in protecting our IT systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. You will support security operations, monitor systems, and help identify vulnerabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor security systems and alerts (SIEM tools) for suspicious activity - Assist in identifying and responding to security incidents - Perform basic vulnerability assessments and risk analysis - Support implementation of security controls and policies - Conduct regular system scans and ensure patch updates - Help maintain endpoint security tools (antivirus, firewall) - Assist in security audits and compliance activities - Document incidents, findings, and reports Required Skills: - Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) - Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices - Familiarity with tools like antivirus, firewalls, SIEM - Understanding of common attacks (phishing, malware, ransomware) - Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of tools like Wireshark, Nessus, or Splunk - Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) - Understanding of cloud security (AWS/Azure basics) Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field Certifications (Good to Have): - CompTIA Security+ - CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker beginner level) - Cisco CCNA (basic networking) Soft Skills: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Attention to detail - Good communication skills - Willingness to learn and adapt If you have any additional details about the company, please provide them.
