Role Purpose The People and Projects Manager plays a dual role within Gexcons Bergen office, combining people leadership with commercial and project delivery responsibilities. The role requires a collaborative and commercially minded leader who can support team development while contributing to the continued growth of Gexcons presence in Norway and internationally. Technical & Professional Qualifications and Requirements Bachelors degree in chemical engineering / Process Safety / Fire & Safety Engineering or related discipline.Practical experience in technical safety, process safety, risk management, or related consulting disciplines, with the ability to understand client needs, support project delivery, and lead technical teams.Experience in project management and client-facing consultancy roles. Proven ability to develop business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships. Previous experience in line management, team leadership, coaching or mentoring technical professionals. Strong commercial awareness with understanding of project profitability, utilisation, and business growth. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and international teams. Excellent command of English and Norwegian. Key Responsibilities Approximately 60% of the role is focused on management, team leadership, coaching, resource planning and serving as the primary point of support for the local Consulting team. The remaining 40% of the role will involve technical project management, business development, and client engagement activities. The role leverages strong technical safety expertise to identify and develop business opportunities, build and strengthen client relationships, secure projects, and lead the delivery of high-quality technical safety studies and services. People Management & Team Leadership (Approx. 60%) Act as the primary line manager and go-to person for the Bergen Consulting team. Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, regular feedback, and performance management. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture aligned with Gexcons values.Encourage development of the team members; identify development needs in collaboration with the Service Line Manager and put in place plans for development.Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning activities in close collaboration with the Global HR Director.Coordinate team workload, utilisation, and resource planning in collaboration with local and global service line managers.Promote knowledge sharing and professional development across the team. Support employee wellbeing, engagement, and day-to-day team management matters. Project Management & Business Development (Approx. 40%) Oversee project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.Monitor progress and resolve bottlenecks in close collaboration with Service Line Managers.Identify, pursue, and help secure new business opportunities and consulting projects.Prepare technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and project scopes.Act as the senior point of contact for key clientsCollaborate with Gexcons global teams to support multidisciplinary project delivery.
