Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer London or Guildford | Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

We are now seeking a Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer to join our growing Transport & Mobility team. The Opportunity As a Transport Planner / Traffic Engineer, you’ll support the planning, design and delivery of a wide range of transport and infrastructure projects—from active travel and public realm improvements to highway schemes, rail interfaces, and major mobility upgrades.
You’ll play a key role in shaping sustainable transport solutions and will have opportunities to build strong client relationships and grow within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. What You’ll Do
Prepare transport engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
Collect, analyse, and interpret transport and traffic data
Support feasibility studies, assessments, and early‑stage design
Contribute to the design and evaluation of engineering solutions
Assist with monitoring construction and improvement works
Undertake inspections under the guidance of senior engineers
Support project delivery, contract coordination, and client engagement
Apply continuous improvement and digital tools to enhance project outcomes
Maintain awareness of current standards, technology trends, and regulations
What You Bring
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or related field
3–6 years of experience in transport or traffic engineering
Strong analytical skills and familiarity with industry design tools
Confident communicator with stakeholder engagement experience
Ability to navigate complex information and contribute to sound engineering decisions
Collaborative mindset with a passion for innovation and problem solving
Experience supporting junior team members is advantageous
