Role Description The Mechanical Piping Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and detailing piping systems for industrial and oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include preparing piping layouts and isometrics, performing basic stress analysis, supporting mechanical equipment integration, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams such as process, civil, and structural engineering. The role also involves reviewing vendor drawings, participating in design reviews, and providing technical support during fabrication and installation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Puducherry, requiring close collaboration with project teams and clients. Main Requirements. Static Equipment design especially ASME Sec VIII, EN etc,,If any Package Engineering design like PV elite design knowledge including vessel and Piping is preferable.Needs to be from Fabrication background.Job Description:- Piping System Design: Design and develop piping systems for a range of projects, ensuring they are safe, functional, and cost-effective.Piping Layouts: Create detailed piping layouts, including the arrangement of piping components, valves, fittings, and supports.Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for piping based on the project requirements, including factors such as pressure, temperature, fluid types, and corrosion resistance.Stress Analysis: Perform stress analysis to ensure piping systems can withstand operational conditions and meet safety standards.Support Design: Design and specify supports, hangers, and brackets to ensure that piping systems remain stable and secure during operation.Compliance and Standards: Ensure designs and materials comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO, or local standards).Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.Piping Drawings: Produce detailed technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar).Testing and Commissioning: Assist in the testing and commissioning of piping systems to ensure they function as designed and meet project specifications.Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues during installation and operational phases of piping systems and provide solutions to ensure project success.Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of piping system designs, specifications, and technical reports.Technical Skills:Proficiency in CAD softwareKnowledge of piping design codes and standardsFamiliarity with stress analysis tools and softwareExperience with material selection and corrosion protection in piping systems.Understanding of fluid dynamics and piping hydraulics.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.Attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate designs.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong organizational skills and time management.Preferred Qualifications: Certification in piping engineering or related fieldsExperience with 3D piping design software and tools.Knowledge of international standards and best practices in piping design and construction.Experience in commissioning and startup of piping systems.Work Environment: Must be willing and able to relocate or deputize to Dubai, UAE, for on-site support, collaboration, and project delivery as per the project needs.Office-based with occasional site visits for project review and coordination.Collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Benefits: Commuter assistanceHealth insuranceLeave encashmentPaid time off .
