About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for the Process Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence: - Monitor and optimize lens casting and curing process to improve productivity, yield, and consistency. - Analyze manufacturing defects and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection levels. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to polymerization, curing cycles, and process standardization. - Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies across production operations. - Ensure process parameters are monitored and controlled through statistical process control (SPC) techniques. - Collaborate with production teams to improve operational efficiency and process reliability. In the Research & Development aspect of the role, you will: - Develop and evaluate new resin formulations and optical monomers for enhanced lens performance. - Conduct laboratory trials, pilot batch studies, and validation activities for new product development. - Optimize curing cycles including temperature and polymerization parameters to achieve superior optical quality. - Perform root cause analysis and failure analysis for process-related and product-related issues. - Work on improvement of optical and physical characteristics such as refractive index, hardness, impact resistance, and lens clarity. Regarding Mold & Process Control Management, your responsibilities will include: - Overseeing mold handling, cleaning, maintenance, and inspection activities to ensure precision and quality standards. - Ensuring adherence to process specifications and technical standards during manufacturing operations. - Monitoring process capability and recommending improvements for process robustness and repeatability. - Maintaining technical records, validation reports, process documentation, and development data. In terms of Documentation & Compliance, you will: - Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical process documents. - Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices. - Support internal audits, process validations, and quality improvement initiatives. Educational Qualifications: - B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Polymer Engineering OR - M.Sc./B.Sc. in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Optics Years and Nature of Experience: - 8-12 years of relevant experience in optical lens manufacturing, polymer processing, resin casting, or precision chemical manufacturing.
