Introduction We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Data Governance Analyst with proven experience in data cataloging, lineage configuration, and the implementation of metadata-driven governance solutions. The ideal candidate will support enterprise data governance initiatives by implementing and managing the Alation platform for Data Catalog and Data Quality. The role requires hands-on ability to develop codes for data pipelines, conversion wrappers, and perform configuration of functions provided by Alation and have the necessary skills to enable requirements which are not catered by Alation through other technical workarounds. Your Job Lead the implementation and strategic rollout of Alation Data Catalog across enterprise data platformsArchitect and configure Alations core components including metadata ingestion, lineage mapping, and stewardship workflowsCollaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align cataloging efforts with governance objectivesDrive metadata enrichment, classification, and business glossary development to improve data discoverability and literacyMonitor and optimize Alation platform performance, ensuring scalability and integration with BI and data platformsOversee onboarding of new data sources and ensure consistent metadata capture and lineage trackingDevelop and maintain documentation for data governance architecture, integration patterns, and compliance workflowsProvide strategic insights and report on metadata usage, data quality trends, and governance complianceResolve complex issues related to data cataloging, metadata accuracy, and lineage gaps Other Responsibilities Lead training and enablement programs to promote Alation adoption and data governance best practices across teamsStay current with Alation product updates and industry trends to guide platform enhancementsPresent governance metrics and recommendations to senior leadership and data councilAddress data management business requirements as needed Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.5 - 8 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data architecture rolesMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Alation, including full lifecycle implementation in enterprise environmentsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for metadata automation and analysisStrong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and different data sources (e.g. SAP S4 Hana, D365, AWS S3, Redshift)Strong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesSelf-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvementReliable and trustworthy in managing sensitive data GlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer, cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
