About the role
Role Overview: As a Process Engineer in the Agrochemical/Specialty Chemical Manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for ensuring secure, productive, and cost-effective operations by applying your strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, troubleshooting, scale-up, and plant optimization. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor batch manufacturing operations including reactions, distillation, crystallization, filtration, and drying. - Review batch records and process parameters for compliance with SOPs. - Analyze yield, cycle time, raw material, and utility consumption to identify improvement opportunities. - Support scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. - Investigate and resolve issues related to low yield, off-spec material, filtration, crystallization, distillation, vacuum, and drying. - Ensure secure handling of hazardous chemicals and compliance with safety procedures and regulations. - Perform material and heat balance calculations and support optimization of equipment. - Prepare technical reports, process summaries, and MIS; coordinate with cross-functional teams; support audits and regulatory documentation. Qualification Required: - B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering. - 2-6 years of experience in agrochemical, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical manufacturing industry. - Hands-on experience in batch process manufacturing.
