Lead Android Engineer

As a Lead Android Software Engineer at GoDaddy's Payment OS & Apps Team in Pune, you will play a crucial role in crafting the future of payment solutions. The team focuses on developing Android-based Smart Point of Sale (POS) Terminals and related software to offer secure and efficient payment options for banking partners and merchants. Additionally, you will contribute to managing a Terminal Management solution that provides remote support for deployed Smart POS, including over-the-air updates and configuration. Key Responsibilities: - Write code on most projects, demonstrating expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and industry best practices - Propose and drive engineering initiatives to reduce technical debt and ensure a robust technical foundation - Guide and mentor junior engineers on design, implementation, and code reviews - Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver maintainable, scalable, and high-quality architectural solutions - Lead and support operational processes, including release management, incident response, and post-mortems Qualifications Required: - 9+ years of software industry experience, with expertise in Java, Kotlin, and Android Native Development - Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, Test-Driven Development, and observability instrumentation - Proven ownership of the entire software development lifecycle and experience in designing secure external-facing APIs - Skilled in leading technical teams, driving cross-team architecture, and expert knowledge in Scrum processes In addition to the required qualifications, you might also have prior experience within the payments and risk domains, experience with AOSP, knowledge of RESTful APIs and cloud computing, and experience in messaging systems and event-driven architecture.
