About the role
As a Support Engineer at Google Cloud Platform, you will play a crucial role in helping customers transition to Google Cloud. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot technical issues for customers, ensuring swift resolution through a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and coding/scripting when necessary. You will advocate for customers within Google Cloud, working towards understanding and resolving their issues effectively. Please note that the role may require you to work in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours, including weekends. Role Overview: - Provide technical support to customers migrating to Google Cloud - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues through various methods - Advocate for customer needs within Google Cloud - Work in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours as required Key Responsibilities: - Develop a deep understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics and architectures - Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders - Work as part of a global team to ensure 24-hour customer support - Collaborate with customers to resolve production database issues - Drive high-quality production and customer satisfaction Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience - 3 years of experience with web tech, data/big data, SQL, BigQuery, systems admin, machine learning, networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, or SAP - Experience with coding in a general-purpose language and virtualization frameworks - Familiarity with Linux/Unix or other operating systems - Experience in technical consulting and database design for enterprise customers Google Cloud is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
