System Design Engineer, ChromeOS

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics or embedded systems. Experience with Linux development environments and Git or Gerrit. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Experience developing low-level firmware, Linux kernel device drivers, and Board Support Package (BSPs) within open-source projects. Knowledge of system architecture and system design. As a System Design Engineer, you will take a holistic approach to product development, ensuring all components from the hardware and operating system to the software and development infrastructure work together seamlessly. Responsibilities Design and build the systems, tools, and automated processes that our engineers and partners rely on for the entire device life-cycle, including bring-up, configuration, and management. Develop and drive technical road-map and goals to ensure the expansion of the ChromeOS and Aluminum device ecosystem. Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams (e.g., Hardware, OS, Software) and external partners (e.g., OEMs) to deliver well-integrated product designs that meet both technical requirements and partner demands.
