About the role
As a Junior Engineer-Process Engineering at Gradiant India Private Limited in Chennai, India, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing water and wastewater treatment plants. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing innovative water and wastewater treatment processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. - Designing process trains for water and wastewater treatment plants in coordination with the process engineering team. - Performing equipment design and sizing to meet process requirements. - Preparing and reviewing detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Mass Balances, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). - Coordinating with cross-functional teams during proposal preparation and participating in vendor technical evaluations and risk assessments. - Delivering client proposals punctually while maintaining high standards of technical quality. - Participating in customer meetings and safety/risk workshops. - Assisting with commissioning and site support activities as required. - Providing technical training to internal teams and external customers on treatment processes and related technologies. - Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations related to assigned activities. - Analyzing customer RFQ, tender packages, and user requirement specifications to meet client needs effectively. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering. - Minimum 3 years of experience in process and application engineering within the water and wastewater sector. Skills and attributes that will be beneficial for this role include: - Familiarity with a variety of water and wastewater treatment technologies. - Good understanding of membrane filtration processes and membrane system design. - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. - Detail-oriented, reliable, and well-organized. - Proficiency in English (both verbal and written). - Willingness to travel as required. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy, start-up environment.
