As a Backend Developer at our specialized IoT development team, you will play a central role in designing, developing, and delivering backend software that powers DBS digital products and platforms. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and cloud components utilizing C#, Azure Functions, and microservices architecture. - Translating architectural guidance into technical designs and ensuring implementation aligns with GDRA principles. - Ensuring backend solution coherence across various aspects such as service interactions, data flows, integrations, performance expectations, and security constraints. - Collaborating with Product Management, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to convert business needs into scalable backend software solutions. - Implementing secure-by-design engineering practices and ensuring compliance with ISO27001 standards. - Reviewing code, architectural designs, and cloud setups to maintain high quality and adherence to engineering standards. - Promoting modern engineering practices like CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and cloud-native development. - Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in distributed and cloud-based backend systems. - Supporting integration with frontend, mobile, and cloud platforms to ensure seamless end-to-end digital experiences. - Staying updated on backend technologies, Azure cloud capabilities, and industry trends to introduce relevant innovations into the development process. - Contributing to technology evaluations and assessing architectural impacts, scalability, and long-term sustainability of solution choices. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering with 5 years of experience in backend development. - Advanced proficiency in C#, Azure Functions, and microservices. - Experience with REST API development; GraphQL experience is a strong advantage. - Solid understanding of secure software development and ISO27001 practices. - Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.
