As a Sustainability Consultant in India at Guidehouse, your role will involve developing, delivering, and supporting technical solutions related to transmission & distribution power grids, with a focus on the evolving industry dynamics towards a clean energy future. Your key responsibilities will include: - Performing power systems analysis such as transmission planning feasibility studies, System Impact Studies, and Generator Interconnection Studies. - Conducting Steady State Simulation, Dynamic Stability Simulation, Voltage Stability Simulation, and Short Circuit Analysis, and providing recommendations for mitigations. - Developing and refining dynamic models for conventional and inverter-based resources (IBRs) for transient & EMT simulation-based analyses. - Organizing tasks and schedules for substantial business analyses to deliver high-quality, client-ready work and deliverables. - Managing and acting as a technical solution delivery consultant on projects related to electrical transmission and distribution system planning studies. To qualify for this role, you will need: - A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a masters degree or Doctorate in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering from a recognized university. - Minimum 3 years of experience in Power Systems Engineering professional work, excluding internships, co-ops, or fellowships. - Familiarity with or the ability to quickly adapt to IEEE, IEC, NERC, and local grid regulatory requirements and processes for various transmission systems worldwide. - Knowledge of various transmission planning concepts, practices, and procedures, and the ability to apply Transmission Planning reliability criteria for analyses. - In-depth understanding of transmission and distribution systems from planning and operations perspectives. - Technical proficiency in power systems engineering tools such as PSLF, PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, EMTP, ASPEN OneLiner, TARA, CAPE, DSATools, or PowerWorld Simulator. - Excellent oral, presenting, and written communication skills, along with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities. Nice to have skills include: - Consulting experience within the utilities industry. - Knowledge of resource interconnection and expansion planning practices. - Working knowledge of ISO/RTO operations and functions. - Flexibility to work in mid-shift timings (UK shift).
