About the role
As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the engineering discipline by combining software, infrastructure, and systems to develop practical solutions to operational challenges. The team's focus includes optimizing existing platforms, improving reliability, and reducing manual effort through automation. Your key responsibilities will include: - Contributing to the design and delivery of secure, resilient network instrumentation capabilities aligned with firmwide engineering standards. - Supporting high-availability packet aggregation and analytics services in partnership with Network Operations and Cybersecurity. - Performing testing and certification of monitoring appliances/software against performance, security, and compliance criteria. - Collaborating with Operations and Architecture teams on incident follow-up, bug fixes, design updates, and upgrades. - Integrating packet broker and analytics technologies to enhance network observability. Qualifications required for this role include: - Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines and a minimum of 3 years of relevant applied experience (or equivalent experience). - Working knowledge of infrastructure engineering areas such as networking, hardware, automation, scaling/resilience, performance, integration, and deployment practices. - Familiarity with infrastructure components like routers/switches, load balancers, proxies, firewalls, LAN/WAN, compute, storage, containers, and/or cloud services. - Exposure to packet analysis and/or flow telemetry, including experience with implementing or operating Arista DMF or similar packet broker platforms, and packet analytics platforms supporting performance monitoring. - Ability to use telemetry for investigating performance issues and supporting root-cause analysis. - Exposure to large-scale enterprise networks across LAN/WAN/wireless/security services and major vendor platforms, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, and network security fundamentals (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications are a plus). - Experience working in Agile/SCRUM delivery practices.
