About the role
About the role The Solution & Integrations Architect will play a critical architecture leadership role within the HR Technology portfolio, with a core focus on simplifying the overall solution architecture and integration landscape. This role sits in the Corporate Functions D&T organization and reports to the Director of HCM DevOps. This role is responsible for shaping, governing, and evolving HR technology solutions by applying enterprise architecture principles, capability led design, and platform first thinking. The architect will provide clear, evidence-based guidance on what systems and products should be used for which HR business capabilities and why, ensuring long-term scalability, reduced complexity, and improved employee and manager experience. Deep, hands-on experience with HCM suite of products is essential, as these platforms form the backbone of the HR systems landscape. Role Responsibilities Own and define end-to-end solution architectures for HR capabilities across the employee lifecycle, ensuring alignment to enterprise and HR target architectures. Apply business capability-based architecture to determine system fit, avoid duplication, and guide investment decisions. Lead the rationalisation of the HR integration landscape, reducing point-to-point complexity and improving reusability and resilience. Define and govern integration patterns, standards, and principles (e.g., event based, API-led, canonical data models). Act as a trusted architecture authority on Workday and other HCM capabilities, constraints, and best fit use cases. Guide decisions on where to standardise vs. extend, and when not to customise. Serve as a key contributor to architecture governance forums, design reviews, and investment discussions. Provide clear, defensible recommendations to senior HR, Digital, and Architecture stakeholders grounded in principles, not preferences. Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture guardrails, data principles (e.g., FAIR), and regulatory expectations (e.g., SOX where applicable). Maintain architectural artefacts in enterprise repositories (e.g., capability maps, solution views, spider diagrams, integration diagrams). Collaborate with HR Product Owners, Business Partners, Enterprise Architecture, Data, Security, and external vendors. Translate complex architectural topics into clear, business relevant narratives for senior stakeholders (e.g., CHRO-level discussions). Influence delivery partners to build simpler, more sustainable solutions, not just technically correct ones. Why you? Basic Qualifications: 12-14 years of experience in solution and/or integration architecture, with significant exposure to complex HR technology landscapes. Deep hands-on experience with Workday and other HCM Tools (Core HR, Talent, Learning, Integrations). Strong grounding in enterprise architecture principles, including capability modelling, platform strategy, and technology lifecycle management. Proven experience simplifying large, fragmented integration landscapes in a global enterprise environment. Strong understanding of HR data domains, integration patterns, and downstream consumers (analytics, payroll, identity, learning, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within global, regulated enterprises with strong governance expectations. Familiarity with ServiceNow HRSD, IAM/PAM, data platforms, or integration middleware. Experience contributing to or operating within a formal architecture governance model. Ability to balance strategic architecture thinking with pragmatic delivery realities. Systems thinker with a strong bias for simplification and clarity Comfortable challenging because we always did it this way Trusted advisor who can influence without authority Able to operate at both deep technical and executive narrative levels Values long-term architectural health over short-term fixes Disclaimer : This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
