Job Description Senior Snowflake Data Engineer (Retail Domain) Experience: 10+ Years Domain: Retail Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Snowflake, AWS, Apache Airflow, and Data Warehousing , along with hands-on experience in Python-based ETL development and Agile Scrum delivery . The candidate will also be expected to serve as a Scrum Master , facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing delivery impediments, mentoring the team, and driving continuous improvement while providing technical leadership. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Track sprint progress and ensure timely delivery of committed work. Identify and remove team impediments to improve delivery efficiency. Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize and refine the product backlog. Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement. Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, and team capacity. Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Support release planning and dependency management. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data solutions using Snowflake. Architect enterprise data warehouse solutions and implement efficient ETL/ELT pipelines. Design and manage Apache Airflow workflows for enterprise data orchestration. Implement and enforce data governance, RBAC, Dynamic Data Masking, and security best practices. Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and Snowflake warehouse performance. Build and manage data ingestion pipelines using AWS S3 and EMR. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality analytics solutions. Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers through technical guidance and code reviews. Manage source code and CI/CD processes using GitHub and GitHub Actions. Ensure data quality, platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. Act as Scrum Master by facilitating Agile ceremonies, resolving delivery impediments, and driving continuous improvement. Coordinate sprint execution, stakeholder communication, and release planning. Contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmaps for the enterprise data platform. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering with strong expertise in Snowflake. 2+ years of Scrum Master experience in Agile software development teams. Experience working in the Retail domain. Strong understanding of modern cloud data architectures and enterprise data platforms. Experience with Snowpark and Open Table Formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Apache Hudi). Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II, or SAFe Scrum Master) is preferred. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and leadership skills. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with distributed teams.
