About the role
As a Transducer Engineer at HARMAN Automotive, you will have the opportunity to work within the Automotive Audio Division. Your main responsibility will be the development of transducers for in-vehicle applications, including tasks such as virtual design (simulation), sample validation, and cost efficiency analysis. You will collaborate closely with a global team to create and present innovative design solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Support NPD/R&D projects and assist transducer engineers in all transducer engineering activities. - Participate in developing common work practices, procedures, and design standards with other audio systems design groups. - Ensure proper documentation defining and verifying transducer designs is provided, including sketches, BOMs, analytical/modeling data, acoustic data sheets, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, etc. - Stay updated on the latest developments in world-class best practices related to audio product design, development, modeling/analysis, materials, and manufacturing techniques. - Set objectives, measure performance, conduct appraisals, and coach and counsel engineers. - Collaborate with transducer, materials manufacturing, test, quality, and supplier engineering members to coordinate activities effectively. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in transducer design. - Proficiency in using various modeling/analysis/FEA packages like Magnet, ANSYS. - Experience leading project teams. - Understanding of world-class best practices in transducer design, development, and manufacturing techniques. - Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in English. If you have working knowledge of OEM customers' expectations, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a background in automotive speakers, it would be considered a bonus. You should be willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally, work in the R&D Center in Suzhou, and successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen as conditions of employment.
