Principal Architect

As a very senior Microsoft AI & Azure Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, delivery, and governance of large-scale AI solutions for enterprise customers. Your role will involve deep hands-on technical leadership, people and stakeholder management, and managing senior AI technical leaders embedded in customer environments. You will act as a trusted advisor to CXOs, a hands-on architect for complex AI platforms, and a mentor for scaling high-performing AI engineering and architecture teams across multiple customer engagements. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end architecture for AI-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure, defining reference architectures, blueprints, and guardrails aligned with Microsoft best practices. - Lead solutioning for GenAI, Copilot, and AI platform modernization initiatives. - Architect and govern enterprise adoption of Microsoft Copilot, Custom Copilots, Azure OpenAI Service, and AI Foundry. - Design and lead solutions using Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Studio, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, and other Azure data platforms. - Define and enforce MLOps / LLMOps standards, ensuring observability for AI systems. - Act as Chief Architect / AI Advisor for strategic customers, leading architecture discussions with CXOs and translating business problems into scalable AI architectures. - Lead and mentor senior AI architects and technical leaders, build AI architecture communities of practice, and coach leaders on customer engagement and technical depth. Required Technical Expertise: - Strong expertise in the core Microsoft Stack, including Azure, Azure AI, GenAI, Azure OpenAI Service, and Microsoft Copilot Ecosystem. - Proficiency in data platforms, MLOps / LLMOps frameworks, API and integration architecture, AI security patterns, and responsible AI principles. Experience & Qualifications: - 15+ years of overall technology experience with 8-10+ years in enterprise architecture or principal architect roles. - Proven experience delivering large-scale AI / GenAI solutions for global enterprises. - Strong background in the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure-first) and experience managing senior architects and technical leaders. Leadership & Soft Skills: - Executive-level communication and storytelling skills. - Mentorship mindset with a passion for building leaders. - Ability to balance hands-on depth with strategic vision and comfortable operating in high-impact environments. Certifications: - Highly desirable certifications include Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate / Expert, Microsoft Copilot / Power Platform certifications, and TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
