A Day In The Life: As an Operations Research Analyst, you'll play a key role in optimizing Hertz’s fleet by leveraging data, analytics, and reporting to drive strategic decisions. You'll help ensure the right vehicles are in the right place at the right time while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve fleet utilization, meet customer demand, and maximize profitability. This is a great opportunity for a data-driven problem solver who enjoys turning insights into business impact. The starting salary for this role is $75,000, commensurate with experience. What You’ll Do: Drive fleet performance by building automation tools, improving processes, and delivering meaningful data insights Use SQL, R, or Python to extract, clean, and analyze data Create clear, impactful dashboards and visualizations in Tableau Gather, organize, maintain, and analyze data to support business decisions Analyze key business metrics and provide actionable recommendations Partner with cross-functional teams to design and build reports using Tableau, Excel, Databricks, S3, Athena, and other tools Turn complex data into practical insights while ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting Provide data and reporting support to team members and business stakeholders Maintain efficient, consistent processes to keep data current and reporting on schedule Support additional projects and responsibilities as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 1+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field in a business or advanced academic setting

  • Strong programming and data analysis skills with experience using SQL, Python, R, SAS, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Proven ability to leverage data to drive operational improvements, optimization, and business decision-making

  • Experience identifying data sources, extracting and transforming data, and developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations

  • Understanding of optimization, predictive, or other data science models; familiarity with linear programming is a plus

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams

  • Knowledge of AWS, S3, Databricks, Gurobi, Athena, supply chain operations, fleet management, or car rental operations is a plus

  • Passion for solving complex problems through mathematical reasoning, analytics, and data-driven insights

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and innovative, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
