About the role
Cloud Engineering Manager What you ll do: Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, developing, and sustaining products, enhancements, and updates. Plans and delivers features for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps. Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs. Proactively identifies process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and achieves operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning. Provides people management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting, and monitoring of performance goals, coaching, and career development. Builds a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results. Advanced project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring Education and Experience Required: Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems. BE or ME Typically, 12-15 years software engineering experience required , including 2 -5 years of people management experience. What you need to bring: Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge of cloud applications and related technologies. Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution. Advanced project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills. Provides direct and ongoing leadership for software engineers. Mentor, coach, and develop the talent in the team. Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps. Communicates project status effectively to stakeholders. Manages relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders. Sets expectations for deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs. Ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating across the organization. Proactively identifies opportunities for team improvements and works with executive management to ensure global alignment. Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development. Ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development. Prior experience using agile methodologies is required. Prior experience managing or developing software in a production software environment is required. 2 to 5 years prior experience managing a technical team in a software related field is required. Prior experience developing and managing software written in C, C++, Java or GoLang within a Linux environment is highly desirable.
