Director of Engineering Security Products Location: Bengaluru Experience: 15+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to drive the strategy, architecture, and execution of our cloud-native platform and security products. This role will be responsible for building scalable distributed systems, leading multiple engineering teams, and delivering highly available, secure, and reliable products used by customers globally. The ideal candidate will have strong technical depth in cloud infrastructure, security platforms, distributed systems, and modern software architectures, along with proven experience managing large engineering organizations. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the engineering roadmap for platform and security-focused products. Lead multiple engineering teams and engineering managers to deliver high-quality software at scale. Drive architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and engineering best practices. Partner with Product, Security, and Business stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals. Build scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems handling large-scale workloads. Establish engineering standards for software development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operations. Drive operational excellence, incident management, technical debt reduction, and platform modernization initiatives. Mentor senior engineers and managers while building a strong engineering culture. Oversee hiring, talent development, succession planning, and organizational growth. Required Skills Leadership 15+ years of software engineering experience. 6+ years leading engineering teams and managing managers. Experience building and scaling engineering organizations of 30+ engineers. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership experience. Technical Strong hands-on background in Node.js and modern backend architectures. Experience with React.js and modern frontend frameworks. Deep understanding of microservices and distributed systems. Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native application development. Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures. Knowledge of security best practices, authentication, authorization, and identity management. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Helm. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Nice to Have Experience with security products, cybersecurity platforms, or identity management solutions. Exposure to SIEM, threat detection, compliance, or cloud security platforms. Experience working in large-scale SaaS or cloud infrastructure organizations. Knowledge of Go/Golang and high-throughput distributed systems. Preferred Background Candidates from leading product companies, cloud platforms, SaaS organizations, cybersecurity companies, or large-scale distributed systems environments are highly preferred.
