Business R&D Experienced Professional Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Job ID: R0125403 Date Posted: 2026-04-24 Company Name: HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED Profession (Job Category): Engineering & Science Job Schedule: Full time Remote: No Job Description: The opportunity: As a Business R&D Experienced Professional in the Hardware Lifecycle Management Group (HLMG), you will act as a technical authority for electronic component and hardware lifecycle management, ensuring long term manufacturability, regulatory compliance, and sustainability of products with long service lifetimes. You will own the lifecycle assessment and obsolescence management of electronic components, assemblies, and PCBAs used across multiple product lines. The role goes beyond execution: you will drive technical recommendations, influence design and sourcing decisions, and proactively mitigate lifecycle risks before they impact products or customers. You will work in a global, cross functional environment, collaborating closely with Hardware R&D, Product Management, Global Supply Chain, Quality, and EMS partners across Europe and India. The position is part of the R&D Infrastructure organization. How youll make an impact: Own component lifecycle management for assigned modules, technologies, or product families Perform deep technical and parametric analysis of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical components Act as a lifecycle authority, providing recommendations that influence design, sourcing, and redesign decisions Lead obsolescence management activities, including PCN, PDN, and End of Life (EoL) assessments Conduct predictive lifecycle risk analysis and define mitigation strategies for High and Medium risk components Drive early redesign or replacement proposals for components with limited long-term availability Own and govern Bills of Material (BoMs) from a lifecycle and compliance perspective Maintain and continuously improve component databases and lifecycle data quality Use and help shape usage of SiliconExpert, PLM tools, and lifecycle dashboards Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH SVHC, PFAS, PoP, and other applicable environmental regulations Provide regulatory impact assessments for component changes and redesign activities Collaborate proactively with Global Supply Chain on availability constraints, shortages, and long lead time components Engage with EMS partners and component suppliers to assess risks, alternatives, and mitigation options Act as a technical interface between R&D and nonR&D stakeholders on lifecycle topics Drive process improvements and workflow automation using scripting and analytics (Python, VBA, etc.) Improve lifecycle transparency, reporting efficiency, and scalability of HLMG activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for PCBAs and lifecycle processes across the portfolio Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your background: Graduate degree in Electronics Engineering (3 to 5 years relevant experience) OR Diploma in Electronics Engineering (6 to 8 years relevant experience) Strong knowledge of Active & Passive electronic components Strong knowledge of Semiconductor ICs: PMICs, microprocessors, memory, microcontrollers, FPGA, cables & connectors, and electromechanical component selection Solid understanding of RoHS, REACHSVHC, PFAS, PoP & other environmental regulations with respect to components Ability to read & understand block diagrams, schematics, footprints & routing techniques Handson experience with Silicon Expert & PLM tools Exposure to component testing, measurements & functional validation with documentation Understanding of PCB assembly processes Handson experience with Python, VBA, or other coding skills for process or workflow automation applied in MSExcel, Outlook, SharePoint & reporting Knowledge of hardware design phases including requirement analysis, design, development & validation Knowledge of Power BI concepts Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
