Structural Engineer

As a technical professional in the Applied Mechanics department within the Corporate Engineering division at Holtec International in Pune, India, you will be part of a team focused on structural mechanics, supporting various subsidiaries including SMR, LLC. Your role will involve conducting seismic and structural analysis of different structures, as well as dynamic simulations related to heavy equipment used in nuclear power plants. If assigned to the SMR-300 program, you will play a crucial part in supporting engineering and licensing requirements for the first SMR-300 plant, collaborating with associates from different operation centers. Key Responsibilities: - Execute and document analyses for various structural systems and components under different loadings - Review concept designs based on requirements and develop them into mature designs through critical thinking, research, and interaction with team members and vendors - Support the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate progress in stakeholder meetings - Assist in licensing and regulatory compliance efforts by generating safety analysis reports and technical reports - Conduct validation and verification of analytical models Qualifications Required: - BE in Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering - Familiarity with industry standards and design codes such as ASME, ASCE, ACI, and AISC - Strong credentials in principles of solid mechanics - Excellent technical writing and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - ME or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering - Industrial experience in stress analysis codes like ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and other finite element analysis codes - Previous nuclear industry experiences with regulatory authorities - Experience in seismic analysis, stress analysis of pressure vessels, and rotatory equipment - Familiarity with modular design development of SSCs Holtec International is a technology leader and innovator in the clean energy industry, focusing on nuclear and solar energy solutions.
