About the role
We are scaling fast but flying partially blind: our tracking is incomplete and untrustworthy, which blocks our ability to measure funnels, run experiments and drive engagement, retention and revenue. We are hiring a data engineer to fix this at the root to own the measurement layer end-to-end. What you'll own The tracking plan and event taxonomy. A canonical, documented set of events names, definitions, properties and conventions that every pod instruments against. The data pipeline. Reliable collection, processing and warehousing so that events land somewhere queryable and trustworthy. The instrumentation standard. You set the bar the feature pods code to; you partner with them to make sure events are emitted correctly and consistently. Data quality and trust making sure that when leadership looks at a funnel, the numbers are right. Enabling the analysts and product team who sit on top of your foundation. What we're looking for 35 years of data engineering experience. Hands-on experience building event-tracking and analytics pipelines (e.g. tools in the Segment / Mixpanel / Amplitude / GA family, plus a warehouse such as BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake). Strong SQL and comfort with data modelling for product analytics. The judgement and authority to define and enforce a tracking standard across teams this role governs how events are designed, not just where they're stored. A product mindset you understand why we're measuring something, not just how. Clear communicator who can align engineers, analysts and product around shared definitions. Nice to have Experience working with React Native / mobile event instrumentation. Experience setting up experimentation / A/B testing infrastructure. Experience in a high-volume consumer funnel.
