About the role
As a Design Leader, your role involves leading and mentoring the UI/UX design team to ensure high design quality standards. You will conduct design reviews, manage workloads, and oversee the overall design process. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end user journeys, including onboarding, comparison flows, checkout/application flows, and post-conversion experiences. - Build and maintain scalable design systems, reusable components, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards. - Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze user behavior data to enhance usability and conversion. - Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, Analytics, and leadership teams to deliver intuitive product experiences. - Ensure responsive, mobile-first, and WCAG-compliant user experiences across all platforms. - Manage prototyping, design documentation, and design-to-development handoff processes for smooth implementation. - Utilize AI-assisted design tools and stay updated with modern UX trends and best practices. - Support hiring, onboarding, capability building, and contribute hands-on to complex product journeys. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of product design experience with a minimum of 3 years managing a design team, direct reports, quality ownership, and critique culture. - Hands-on experience with end-to-end ownership from problem definition to final Figma handoff for both web and mobile platforms. - Strong UI skills combined with a deep understanding of UX psychology to deliver world-class visual and interaction design. - Experience in building or evolving a design system adopted in production code with a focus on token structure, engineering handoff, versioning, and cross-platform consistency. - Comfortable presenting to VP Product, CTO, and C-suite, articulating design rationale in business terms and influencing product direction through user-centric logic and data. - Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a design team while setting quality standards and managing delivery across parallel tracks. - Inclusion of 2+ end-to-end transactional consumer journeys, design system work with engineering context, mobile-first screens, and measurable conversion or usability outcomes.
