The role involves working closely with vendors, design, and procurement teams to ensure accurate costing, competitive pricing, and timely supplier quotations. Key Responsibilities Study engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and 3D models. Estimate manufacturing cost for machined, fabricated, sheet metal, welded, and purchased components. Determine the most suitable manufacturing process based on the drawing. Calculate material cost, machining cost, fabrication cost, welding cost, heat treatment, surface coating, and assembly cost. Prepare detailed cost sheets and quotations. Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotations and negotiate pricing. Compare supplier quotations and perform cost analysis. Support procurement and vendor development activities. Identify cost reduction opportunities through process improvements and alternate sourcing. Maintain cost databases and historical costing records.
