Role Description The Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer is a full time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and executing test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of HummingBirds AI-powered talent platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and maintaining test plans, performing manual functional, regression, and integration testing, and logging, tracking, and verifying defects through resolution. The engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps teams to clarify requirements, participate in reviews, and validate features before release. The role also involves contributing to test documentation, supporting user acceptance testing, and recommending process improvements to enhance overall software quality. Qualifications - Strong foundation in Software Quality and Software Quality Assurance, including understanding of SDLC and STLC processes. - Hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Test Management, including test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management. - Proficiency in Manual Testing techniques for web-based and API-driven applications, with attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to define and track software quality metrics and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Experience testing SaaS, cloud-based, or data-driven platforms; exposure to AI/ML products is a plus. - Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar) and basic understanding of SQL for data validation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. - Knowledge of basic automation concepts or experience with any test automation framework is an advantage.
