About the role
As a Data Engineering Manager at Huron, you will be a key member of the Data Science & Machine Learning team in the Commercial Digital practice. Your role will involve leading the design, development, and delivery of data infrastructure that drives intelligent systems across various industries such as Financial Services, Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities, and more. You will have the opportunity to work on impactful projects that require a deep understanding of data engineering principles and best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Own the full data lifecycle from source integration to analytics-ready delivery. - Lead and develop a team of data engineers to tackle complex data challenges. - Build real-time data architectures to support mission-critical ML models. - Develop transformation layers to convert enterprise data into reliable datasets. - Design orchestration systems for scalability and reliability at scale. - Implement lakehouse solutions for IoT data, real-time streaming architectures, and data mesh strategies for various clients. - Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 9 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying data pipelines in production. - Proficiency in SQL and Python programming, with expertise in PySpark for distributed data processing. - Experience in leading technical teams and developing junior talent through coaching and mentorship. - Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with AI/ML systems. - Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. - Proficiency in workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Microsoft Data Factory. - Excellent communication skills to engage with non-technical stakeholders and executive audiences. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field. - Willingness to travel approximately 30% to client sites as required.
