About the internship We are looking for a hands-on mechatronics intern who thrives at the intersection of physical design, rapid additive manufacturing, embedded hardware, and systems integration. If you want to work on real subsea hardware and see your designs printed and operating in water, this opportunity is for you! Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. 3D CAD design & rapid prototyping: Design mechanical structures, robot chassis, end-effectors, and custom enclosures optimized for FDM 3D printing. 2. Hands-on 3D printing: Slice, calibrate, print, and post-process functional 3D-printed hardware components and enclosures. 3. Robot hardware integration: Assemble and wire mechanical, electrical, and power distribution stacks for subsea robotic systems. 4. Embedded computing: Set up and interface prototyping boards (Raspberry Pi 5, edge compute platforms) with motors, microcontrollers, and actuators. 5. Sensor integration: Interface cameras, IMUs, and subsea telemetry devices with onboard computers.
