Draughtsman

Job Summary The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and documentation for engineering projects. The role involves converting engineering concepts, calculations, and sketches into accurate CAD drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed engineering drawings, P&ID, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or other CAD software. Develop General Arrangement (GA), fabrication, piping, process flow, and installation drawings. Revise drawings based on engineering comments, site conditions, and client requirements. Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings. Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and project engineers to ensure drawing accuracy. Maintain proper drawing registers, revision control, and document management systems. Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and company procedures. Participate in site visits when required to collect measurements and verify installation details. Support material submittals and technical documentation preparation. Assist in preparing equipment layouts, piping routing, and plant arrangements. Archive and maintain project records, drawings, and technical documents. Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2 years of drafting experience water treatment projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit, SolidWorks, or BIM software is an advantage. Good understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and drafting standards. Familiarity with water treatment, wastewater treatment, MEP, or industrial projects is preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong CAD drafting skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documents. Knowledge of drafting standards and drawing management procedures. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
