About the role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at our high-growth EV infrastructure startup, you will play a crucial role in leading the design of next-generation EV charging hardware. Your responsibilities will include: - Product Design & Enclosure Engineering: - Lead mechanical design of EV chargers using SolidWorks/Creo, focusing on structural integrity and aesthetics. - Research and select materials suitable for harsh environmental exposure (UV, heat, rain). - Design high-performance IP-rated enclosures (IP65/67) with advanced sealing and gasketing solutions. - Optimize designs for DFM and DFA to ensure cost-efficient mass production. - Thermal & Structural Simulation: - Perform hand calculations and FEA for stress, impact resistance, and bolted joints. - Design and validate Thermal Management Systems to handle high-power electronics. - Use simulation data to reduce product weight while maintaining structural safety. - Prototyping & Vendor Management: - Manage relationships with vendors for sheet-metal fabrication, CNC machining, and injection molding. - Oversee prototype assembly and conduct rigorous physical testing to validate simulation results. - Identify and fix design flaws during the Alpha/Beta testing phases. - Documentation & Compliance: - Maintain detailed BOM, technical drawings, and design reports. - Ensure all designs meet Indian and International safety standards for EV infrastructure. Qualifications Required: - Education: B.E/B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 5-8 years in mechanical design (electronics, automotive, or energy sector preferred). - Technical Mastery: Strong command over sheet-metal design and fabrication techniques. - Software: Expert proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo. - Simulation: Proven experience in FEA and thermal simulation tools. - Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of IP-rated enclosure design and DFM/DFA principles.
