What This Role Requires We are seeking an experienced Data + Business Intelligence Architect to lead client engagements in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data architectures. This is a priority position requiring a seasoned professional who can work directly with clients to build robust data foundations, establish governance frameworks, and create scalable data solutions that drive business intelligence and analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will excel in client-facing environments and deliver high-impact data solutions across diverse business contexts. Here is what you will do: Design and implement enterprise data architecture following Medallion architecture principles (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)Build and optimize data pipelines to integrate data from multiple external sources into centralized data platformsDevelop and maintain semantic layers that enable consistent business definitions and metrics across the organizationEstablish data foundations built on strong data governance principles, including data quality, security, and compliance frameworksLead the implementation and management of data lakes and data fabric architecturesDefine and enforce data governance layers including metadata management, data lineage, and access controlsCollaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsProvide architectural guidance and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teamsDrive best practices for data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and BI reporting strategiesKey Skills to Succeed in This Role: Non-Negotiable Technical Skills Medallion Architecture: Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers)Data Pipeline Development: Extensive experience building scalable data pipelines from multiple external sources (APIs, databases, files, streaming sources)Semantic Layer Creation: Demonstrated ability to design and implement semantic layers that provide unified business metrics and definitionsData Foundation & Governance: Strong expertise in building data foundations with integrated data governance principles including data quality, lineage, security, and complianceData Lakes & Data Fabric: Hands-on experience establishing and managing data lakes and/or data fabric architectures with governance layersAdditional Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, and business intelligence rolesExpert-level knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, data vault, etc.)Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data transformation frameworks (dbt, Apache Spark, etc.)Experience with BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersProven track record of delivering enterprise-scale data solutionsPreferred Qualifications Industry Experience: Background in biopharma, pharmaceutical, or Contract Research Organization (CRO) environments is a significant advantageExperience with Informatica or other data cataloging toolsUnderstanding of regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, EMA, GxP) for data management in life sciencesExperience with clinical trial data, laboratory data, or regulatory submission dataFamiliarity with industry-specific data standards (CDISC, HL7, LOINC)Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related fieldRelevant certifications (cloud architecture, data engineering, or data governance certifications) What This Role Requires We are seeking an experienced Data + Business Intelligence Architect to lead client engagements in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise data architectures.
