About the role
As a QA Automation Engineer at Morningstar, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with the technology and business teams to develop innovative technology solutions for Morningstar's Indexes applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading QA activities across multiple squads - Defining and establishing automation strategy and processes - Developing an automation testing framework for Indexes applications - Designing and implementing automation test cases based on requirements - Providing testing guidance to the technology team - Working as an individual contributor and leading application enhancement and tech ops testing activities - Participating in team communication and planning activities such as stand-ups and retrospectives - Managing and communicating project status updates to stakeholders and peers Key Requirements for this role include: - 9 to 12 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing with 6-7 years of hands-on experience in Automation - Strong expertise in Automated Testing of Enterprise Class and Financial applications and web portals - Proficiency in UI Automation tools like Selenium web driver, Nightwatch, and Automation framework development - Experience with programming languages such as Java and JavaScript - Good knowledge of JavaScript libraries like JQuery, Ember, and Angular - Expertise in API testing using tools like Rest Assured frameworks and Ready API - Familiarity with performance testing and security testing tools - Understanding of AWS/Cloud technologies would be a plus - Strong understanding of QA methodologies, concepts, and best practices - Ability to work as a strong individual contributor and team player with leadership capabilities - Knowledge of Servers, Operating System components, OOPs, Design Patterns, and Development standards - Proficiency in Agile methodology and participation in scrum meetings - Self-driven with a desire to use practical and professional QA concepts to resolve routine issues - Experience in building robust and flexible Automated Testing Framework - Proactive in helping the QA community learn Automation and imparting technical knowledge - Ability to work cohesively with team members towards achieving project goals Morningstar offers an equal opportunity work environment with a hybrid work model that encourages in-person collaboration.
