About the role
As an experienced R&D - Mech professional with over 10+ years of experience, your role will involve a variety of key responsibilities including: - DFX (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly): Implementing DFMA and Design for Serviceability and Maintainability for early-stage design maturity. Cross-functional technical collaborations are essential. - GD&T and Tolerance Stack up Analysis: Demonstrating sound knowledge of GD&T and its interpretation in manufacturing processes. Ability to conduct Tolerance Stack up Analysis for simple to complex assemblies. - Design Quality Assurance: Ensuring quality checks and assurance for drawings and Bill Of Material (BOM) being released for Industrialization and Pilot/Series. - DFMEA: Proficient in planning and conducting DFMEA for complex sub-systems and components. Implementation of DFMEA outcomes into design and manufacturing processes. - Supplier Collaborations: Engaging in technical and manufacturing process discussions with suppliers. Implementing feedback into design and educating suppliers on CTQs of design. - Documentations: Preparation of Design Construction documents such as Guidelines and SOPs to aid in the design process. - Prototype to Pilot Series Rampup support: Supporting Production and Sourcing Teams in ramping up Manufacturing and Build of parts and assemblies of UAVs for successful builds of Pilot Series of new products and features. - Support in Manufacturing Processes: Collaborating with the Manufacturing Process Team to create Work Instructions and Control Plans for UAV/drone systems/sub-systems and components. - Stay Informed: Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, emerging techniques, manufacturing processes/methods, and competitiveness. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Aerospace engineering. Master's degree would be an added advantage. - Proven experience in Virtual Manufacturing and Industrialization of Design in Aerospace or Aviation industries. - Good knowledge and experience of CAD/CAM Softwares, preferably PTC Creo (CAD) and Windchill (PLM). - Familiarity with UAV/drone or Aerospace machines and related standards. - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
