In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, integrating, and flight-testing next-generation multirotor platforms. You will bridge hardware, electronics, and flight control software to develop robust, mission-ready drone systems. Key Responsibilities 1. UAV System Design & Architecture Design and develop UAV platforms (multirotor systems) tailored to specific mission and operational requirements. Define end-to-end system architectures, including propulsion, avionics, payloads, communication systems, and power distribution networks. Perform component selection, trade-off studies, and hardware compatibility analysis. 2. Hardware Integration & Assembly Complete drone assembly and hardware integration, including: Flight Controllers: Pixhawk, Cube, and equivalent open-source/proprietary systems. Propulsion & Power: ESCs, motors, propellers, PDBs, and battery configurations. Avionics & Communication: GPS, telemetry modules, and RC systems. Integrate specialized payloads, including surveillance cameras, sensors, and custom hardware modules. Ensure reliable hardware-software interfacing and clean wire harness management. 3. Flight Systems, Autopilot & Tuning Configure and tune open-source flight stacks, specifically PX4 Autopilot and ArduPilot. Conduct bench tests, ground checks, and live flight tests to troubleshoot control and performance issues. 4. Field Testing, Validation & Reliability Develop and execute structured bench and field testing protocols. Diagnose, log, and resolve hardware glitches, signal dropouts, and software edge cases. Validate system performance and reliability under varying environmental and lighting conditions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D, procurement, and operations teams to translate field findings into product improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications Core Technical Competencies Basic understanding of UAV dynamics, flight mechanics, and multirotor propulsion balance. Practical expertise in ESC calibration, power distribution design, and battery management systems (LiPo / Li-ion). Hands-on experience with drone communication systems (RF links, telemetry, and FPV systems). Proven capability in integrating payload systems for surveillance and operational tasks. Software & Tools Proficient with ground control software: QGroundControl and Mission Planner. Familiarity with PX4 / ArduPilot parameter configuration, log analysis, and firmware flashing. Experience Requirements 1–2 years of hands-on experience in UAV/drone development and multirotor platform integration. A proven track record of building, configuring, and flying drones from scratch.
