Database Specialist

We are looking for a Database Specialist / DBA with 2+ years of handson experience in managing SQL and opensource databases. The candidate should have strong exposure to database performance, security, data archiving, and size management, with the ability to support both existing and future database platforms. Mandatory Skills Handson experience with MS SQL Server / MySQL and PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of database administration and maintenance. Experience in database performance tuning and optimization. Experience in database migration from MSSQL to PostgreSQL will be preferred. Knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery strategies; experience with database monitoring tools. Exposure to HA / replication setups (SQL replication, MySQL replication, PostgreSQL streaming replication). Knowledge of indexing strategies and execution plan analysis. Basic scripting skills (PowerShell / Shell / Python anyone). Familiarity with Windows/Linux environments. Role & Responsibilities Monitor and manage database performance, availability, and health. Implement data archiving and purging strategies to control database size growth. Monitor and troubleshoot database replication and synchronization issues. Deep knowledge in migration or extension to opensource databases like PostgreSQL. Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities. Identify and resolve databaserelated production issues. Work with application teams to improve query performance and database design. Ensure database security, including access control, roles, and permissions. Preferred Candidate Profile Qualification B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc (Computer Science) or an equivalent postgraduate degree. Experience 2 to 4 years of relevant database administration experience. Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in production environments with minimal supervision. Good communication and documentation skills.
