Job Title: Associate/Analyst Social Media Listening Introduction to role: Are you ready to turn real-time social conversation into decisions that accelerate our impact for patients and the business As a Social Media Listening Associate/Analyst in Chennai, you will convert signals from global and local channels into clear, timely insights that guide content, media, and engagement decisions across our portfolio. Your analysis will help teams understand sentiment, surface emerging topics, and act quickly to improve how we communicate. You will join a fast paced analytics capability that partners closely with brand, communications, media, and digital teams. We move from question to answer in days, not monthsdesigning queries, validating data, and delivering concise stories that change decisions. You will be trusted to run with complex datasets, speak up with recommendations, and see outcomes play out in live campaigns. Can you spot the signal in the noise and craft a story that teams can act on this week Accountabilities: Topic and Taxonomy Design: Support the definition of topics, measures, and filters to frame clear objectives and deliverables for both standard and custom reports. Query Engineering and Tool Setup: Build and refine social listening queries, keywords, and parameters; configure dashboards to ensure accurate capture of volume, sentiment, drivers, and influencers. Data Quality and Refinement: Take ownership of query iteration to reduce noise and bias, ensuring precise, decision-ready mention analysis by the close of each reporting period. Insight Generation and Storytelling: Pull, interpret, and synthesize data into sharp insights that inform content and media decisions for campaigns and events; advise teams on optimizations and next actions. Reporting and Visualization: Create clear, visually compelling deliverables in PowerPoint, newsletters, and Excelusing charts, tables, and infographics to turn data into a coherent narrative. Campaign Optimization Partner: Translate findings into practical recommendations that impact targeting, creative, and channel mix; track outcomes and iterate to improve results. Standards and Compliance: Operate within global social listening SOPs and compliance policies; uphold data integrity and ethical standards at all times. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional partners to align on objectives, share findings succinctly, and influence decisions with evidence. Essential Skills/Experience: - 2-4 years of experience - Social Media Listening - Bachelors Degree in any stream/Pharma or Mpharm (Pharmocology is preferred) or MBA - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to transform data into a concise, yet compelling story. - Ability to synthesize information and produce insightful and accurate analysis and recommendations. - Highly organized and impeccable attention to detail. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver accurate reports without grammatical or data errors. - Strong sense of responsibility, takes ownership, self-starter and proactive attitude. - Good Mix of Technical Understanding, Business Sense, Managerial/Connecting and Interpersonal skills - Strong familiarity and understanding of social media platforms (preferred) such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums, Instagram and Tumblr required. - Comfortable with MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint. - Exp in any Social Listening tools such as - Sprinklr, BrandWatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, Netbase, Social Studio. Desirable Skills/Experience: - Pharmaceutical and social listening experience is good to have - Hands-on experience configuring queries, dashboards, and reports in enterprise social listening platforms - Experience turning monitoring outputs into campaign or content optimizations within regulated environments - Familiarity with global SOPs and compliance considerations for digital and social data Why AstraZeneca: Here, your curiosity and drive meet real-world impact.
