BI Developer

As a Power BI Developer at Fornax, you will be part of a team of cross-functional professionals dedicated to solving critical business problems using analytics, critical thinking, and data-driven insights. Your role will involve transforming raw data into meaningful insights by developing and maintaining dashboards and reports that support business decision-making. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful visualizations. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end BI solutions by delivering scalable Power BI dashboards and analytical views. - Optimize and refactor existing Power BI dashboards to improve refresh performance, model efficiency, and user experience. - Develop and maintain robust semantic data models and optimized DAX measures following best practices. - Write high-performance SQL for analytical use cases, including complex joins, CTEs, and window functions. - Build analytics-ready datasets using dbt, including transformations, tests, and documentation (preferred). - Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis to ensure accuracy and trust in reporting. Required Skills: - Strong SQL with hands-on experience in analytical query patterns. - Power BI expertise including: - Dashboard development - Data modeling - DAX and performance optimization. - Understanding of analytics engineering, ELT concepts, and data warehousing fundamentals. Good to Have: - Hands-on dbt experience (models, tests, sources, documentation). - Python for data analysis, automation, or data validation. - Exposure to cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
