As an Analyst in Data & Analytics at Morgan Stanley, you will be part of the Legal and Compliance Division responsible for designing and optimizing surveillance models using advanced analytical techniques like machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and graph analytics. Your role will involve developing risk models, conducting statistical analysis, and collaborating with various departments to manage risks effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Develop risk models leveraging Machine learning and quantitative techniques to enhance surveillance and compliance monitoring. - Conduct statistical analysis, back testing, and sensitivity analyses for model thresholds. - Collaborate with various departments to evaluate large data sets using statistical tools. - Enhance statistical methodologies and quantitative models for improved efficiency. - Analyze data elements related to potential risk indicators and identify new factors for risk assessment. - Create key risk and performance indicators to support oversight and monitoring programs. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computational finance, or other quantitative fields. - Experience in advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques. - Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis and modeling, experience in PySpark is a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills and project management abilities. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Knowledge of Distributed Computing & Cloud technologies. - Strong SQL knowledge with experience in writing complex queries. - Familiarity with AI and ML frameworks/tools. - Understanding of programming best practices and SDLC/Model Ops processes.
