About the role
You will be responsible for working regularly with Microns Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to travel to other Micron sites as well as technology conferences and trainings. As part of your responsibilities, you will be required to: - Provide day to day technology directions in the area of Storage and Linux environment. - Maintain global collaboration with the other world wide HPC team members. - Perform day to day operational support, incident management, problem management, project execution, and innovation. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Daily monitoring and sanity checking of storage infrastructure. - Help tune performance and ensure high availability of the storage nodes. - Perform day to day storage management activities and support engineering team requests and requirements. - Architect, install, and implement new storage devices as needed. - Design and develop storage infrastructure monitoring tools to help forecast future problems. - Respond to performance issues identified by alerting and other reporting incidents. - Evaluate and implement new storage technologies periodically. - Collaborate with Linux, LSF, and other HPC team members. - Recommend and work with the Solution and Enterprise Architect on system or architectural changes to improve performance, high availability, scalability, or propose innovative technologies. - Ensure architectural consistency and provide technical direction through the roadmap process and knowledge management. - Create all necessary documentation for any changes in the environment or innovative technology deployments as reference architecture for the global operation team. Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum 6+ years of experience managing enterprise-grade NetApp and Isilon storage clusters. - Strong knowledge of storage technologies, concepts, and architecture. - Knowledge of storage hardware architectures. - Experience working in a distributed file systems environment. - Work on performance analysis and troubleshooting. - Experience with data storage applications and cloud-based file systems. - Experience in backup and data recovery strategies. - Strong Linux administration skills. - Understanding VMWare technologies and job management platforms is a plus. - Ability to work effectively with minimal guidance and support. - Good analytical skills and strong problem-solving skills. - Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. - Stay up-to-date on new technologies to ensure offering the latest solutions to clients. - Experience working in a semiconductor company and HPC environment is a plus. Education: - B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
