About the role
Summary: The Power Automate & Power Platform engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform components such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint. The role will focus on automating IT Service Delivery processes, improving operational efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing user experience across the organization. The candidate will also support troubleshooting, optimization, and governance of automation workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Education: Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Computer Science / IT / Electronics) or equivalent Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage. Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Power Platform / Automation / IT Operation. Certificaion: 1. Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) Preferred 2. Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) Preferred 3. ITIL Foundation Certification Good to have 4. Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Added advantage Knowledge: 1. Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) 2. Knowledge of SharePoint Online lists, permissions, and data structures 3. Understanding of workflow automation, approval processes, and business process re-engineering 4. Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and connectors 5. Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts and incident lifecycle 6. Awareness of Microsoft Teams, Outlook integration, and enterprise collaboration tools 7. Understanding of security, access control, and governance in Microsoft 365 Skills: 1. Strong hands-on experience with Power Automate (flows, triggers, conditions, expressions) 2. Proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas apps, UI design, form customization) 3. Ability to design end-to-end automation workflows 4. Experience with SharePoint as a backend system 5. Debugging and troubleshooting skills for flow failures and app errors 6. Ability to use expressions such as: if(), equals(), length(), contains() 7. Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset 8. Ability to automate business use cases such as: Task tracking systems, Meeting room booking systems, Approval workflows, Incident escalation processes. 9. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 10. Ability to work in a fast-paced IT Service Delivery environment 11. Documentation and reporting capabilities. 1. Design, develop, and maintain Power Automate (Cloud Flows) with advanced logic, expressions, error handling, and scalable architecture patterns aligned to business needs. 2. Monitor and manage workflows proactively, ensuring timely detection and resolution of failures, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues across all automation processes. 3. Perform end-to-end troubleshooting and issue resolution, covering: a. First-level incident handling (failures, timeouts, trigger issues) b. Deep technical analysis for complex issues involving APIs, connectors, authentication, and integrations 4. Automate IT Service Delivery processes, including Incident management, Task tracking, Approval workflows, Reporting and notifications. 5. Build and integrate solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, connecting Power Automate with: SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Power Apps (Canvas Apps), Other enterprise systems and APIs 6. Develop and maintain reusable components, templates, and automation frameworks to standardize flow design and accelerate delivery. 7. Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency, including flow structuring, run optimization, connector usage, and error-handling patterns. 8. Manage access control, roles, and permissions, ensuring secure and compliant use of Power Platform environments and connectors. 9. Handle enhancements and change requests, ranging from minor updates to redesigning complex workflows based on evolving business requirements. 10. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all workflows, integrations, and applications to ensure knowledge continuity and audit readiness. 11. Collaborate with IT Service Delivery, Observability, Command Centre, and business teams to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 12. Define and enforce governance, security, and best practices for Power Automate and broader Power Platform usage, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and data protection policies.
