Job Summary: Application Developer III (Onsite, Jackson, MS)
About the Role
The State of Mississippi is seeking an experienced Application Developer III to join our dynamic team for a 12-month onsite contract in Jackson, MS. As a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, CI/CD practices, and modern programming languages, you’ll drive mission-critical projects in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role offers excellent exposure to innovative technology stacks and opportunities for professional growth within the public sector.
Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level applications using C#, JavaScript, JSON, and YAML.

Design and implement complex data models, schema designs, data migrations, and API integrations.

Manage and administer Microsoft Azure cloud environments, ensuring system reliability and scalability.

Oversee full software development lifecycle, employing Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git for version control.

Conduct thorough application testing, including unit, integration, manual, performance, and UAT test case design.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with project goals.

Maintain and support SQL/SQL Server databases and contribute to data-centric application improvements.

Utilize advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for developer workstations and enterprise server environments.

Required Skills and Experience
-
7+ years of experience as an Application Developer in enterprise environments.

Subject matter expertise in Microsoft Azure, C#, JavaScript/JSON/YAML, SQL/SQL Server, CI/CD practices, Azure DevOps, and Git.

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, enterprise server environments, developer workstations, hardware, and data modeling.

Advanced experience in unit/integration/manual/performance testing and test case/UAT support.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

Experience with z/OS operating systems.

Proficiency in Adabas databases and virtual machine environments.
