Join a pioneering Digital Asset Innovation team as a Senior Blockchain Developer, driving the digital transformation of asset servicing functions at Northern Trust. Leverage your expertise in Java and blockchain technologies to architect, build, and secure next-generation decentralized solutions. Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain secure, scalable blockchain networks and decentralized applications

• Design and deploy smart contracts and protocol-level access controls on leading Blockchain/DLT platforms

• Integrate off-chain data with on-chain processes through Oracle development

• Build robust integration libraries to connect blockchain solutions with internal servers and APIs

• Lead code reviews, provide mentorship, and contribute to best practices across the engineering team

• Document blockchain development processes and ensure compliance with data protection regulations

• Stay updated on the latest trends in cryptography, cybersecurity, and blockchain advancements

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-impact solutions on time and within scope

• Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience developing with Java Spring Boot in production environments

• Demonstrated hands-on blockchain development, including smart contract creation and deployment

• Proficiency in coding languages such as Solidity, NodeJs, Python, GoLang, or Rust

• Deep understanding of cryptography, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity protocols

• Track record of building resilient, scalable systems for enterprise environments

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Experience across the software development lifecycle

• Preferred Skills

• Experience deploying applications via CI/CD pipelines to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)

• Familiarity with digital payments compliance and regulatory frameworks

• Knowledge of the latest crypto technologies for data protection
